Tsai, who has long rescued stray animals in the Kaohsiung-Pingtung area, is deeply committed to helping animals. On the morning of the 29th, while on a routine rescue mission, he unexpectedly witnessed a mother cat carrying a kitten attempting to cross the road when it was struck at high speed by a sedan. The driver fled the scene immediately. Tsai quickly picked up the struggling mother cat and kitten and placed them in his truck, helped arrange their affairs, and promised to find and care for the remaining kittens nearby.
The kittens appeared to be less than a month old, nestled in their mother's arms, but both lost their lives after being hit by the car. On the 29th, Tsai saw a mother cat carrying a kitten trying to cross the road when the at-fault vehicle suddenly accelerated and fled, infuriating him. However, in his rush to save the mother and kitten, he couldn't stop the car in time and could only bring the struggling mother cat into his truck. But due to the force of impact, both the mother cat and kitten could not be saved.
Tsai said that passersby told him the mother cat had already carried two kittens across the road, so he first arranged the mother cat and kitten's affairs and had someone chant sutras for their passage to the afterlife. He promised to return to find the remaining two kittens and care for them properly, asking their mother to rest in peace on her journey. The image of the cats being hit deeply moved many netizens, who felt both heartbroken and angry, leaving comments such as "Thank you for your kindness," "This is heartbreaking, thank you kind-hearted person," "So sad," "Feeling terrible, hoping the mother and kittens are no longer in pain," and "May the cats rest in peace..."
For over eight years, Tsai has been rescuing stray animals in the Kaohsiung-Pingtung area, having rescued over a thousand dogs so far. He has personally adopted 9 dogs and 14 cats. He previously cared for a large dog named "Tianci" (天賜) who had cancer, changing its diaper four times daily without complaint and gently stroking its head to express his love. His devotion touched tens of thousands of people. The dog has since passed away, having lived a complete and fulfilling life.
