During the growth phase of personal brand development, there are several ways to expand yourself, one of which is to "become a platform" that helps others exchange and learn from each other.

The "Cross-Boundary Book Club" was officially launched by me in April 2019. Each book club session has a designated book, and sharers must complete reading before participating using the "Designer Meet-Up Night format – each person uses 20 slides or images maximum, with 20 seconds per slide, totaling 6 minutes 40 seconds per person" approach. They combine personal stories with insights from the book for "time-limited sharing" at the book club, maintaining high-quality content.

I've observed that other book clubs have many people sharing different books. While this allows for diverse content, speaking time varies greatly from person to person, and some people are unwilling to share, losing the purpose of exchange.

Some other book clubs have people prepare presentations, but without time limits. Some go off-topic or exceed their time, making the entire book club drag on and compress discussion time.

So when Yuanliou Publishing introduced the book "Breaking Echo Chambers: The Art of Building Influential Networks," they invited me to write a book recommendation foreword, in which I mentioned:

【Self-Media World】Karen Shao – Hosting Book Clubs, Connecting with Hundreds of High-Achievers
① [Fixed Theme] Incorporate the theme of "reading" into gatherings, optimizing speakers and participants.
② [Quality Control] Using the "Designer Meet-Up Night" format, allowing each participant to take on the role of platform host, sharing their life stories through reading.
③ [Key to Success] Do what you love, what you're good at, and what society needs.

In the past, if someone hadn't finished the book, even if they paid to attend, I would ask them to participate next time because everyone needs to speak for fair and deep exchange. Previously limited to 12-15 participants, but early next year we'll break through the original format. We'll open limited audience observation spots, allowing knowledge sharers to perform the same book and the same sentences while combining life stories with insights from the book, experiencing the charm of knowledge flow and different interpretations. You'll discover that ordinary people's stories might align perfectly with your own life.

Many knowledge sharers are experiencing time and slide limitations for the first time. This situation is like when people used to control the presentation, but now they must follow the presentation's pace and adjust themselves. To maintain quality control, I specially invited Wang Jia-Lin, a media professional with 10 years of experience currently working as a news anchor at FTV, to conduct training for everyone.

The training format is: one-on-one, 30 minutes per person, starting with basic body language and presentation teaching, followed by actual presentation practice, with feedback and adjustments to expression methods.

Some knowledge sharers already have extensive speaking experience, but still have personal blind spots, such as unclear articulation or less-than-perfect pronunciation of rolled sounds. The anchor directly had them read a passage on the spot and provided adjustments based on their situation.

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity; today was really helpful and I'll prepare well over the next week."

"Thank you for this chance to correct some issues I should have noticed while speaking—I think it went well."

"This pre-practice session was extremely meaningful—I learned so much!"

"I should be thanking you for such thoughtful arrangements; it helped me tremendously."

"I used to control the presentation, but now I have to follow the presentation's pace—it's really not easy."

Through the body language and presentation training, sharers have already rehearsed their content once, which will strengthen presentation quality and improve fluency. The same book can be interpreted in different ways—some people narrate personal stories emotionally, while others deconstruct the book title to internalize it as their own knowledge. I'm really looking forward to this sharing session.

When the rules of wealth-building have already changed, the safe path only leads to the most mediocre results!
Change your thinking about "risk" and "safety"! Risk is actually your friend.

The biggest feature of this book is that the recommendation foreword is 34 pages long with a total of 62 renowned international endorsers.

After reading this book, you'll discover that the world's wealth-building rules are completely different from the past. Clinging to old ways of thinking will never lead to success.
